Her dedication to dance led her to pursue a post-graduate degree in Bharatanatyam from Mysore University in 1997. After moving to the U.S. as a young adult, she continued teaching Bharatanatyam, performing in hundreds of shows, and training thousands of students. In 2001, she founded the Nrityasiri Center for Performing Arts in Bengaluru, solidifying her role as an educator and cultural ambassador.

Yamuna made her acting debut in 2013 with the Kannada television serial Ashwini Nakshatra, where she portrayed the character Abhinaya, gaining widespread popularity. This was followed by her film debut in Dil Rangeela (2014), marking her entry into Kannada cinema.
